Itinerary Description

Grade: Moderate
Location: India
Maximum Altitude: 4632 mts
Duration: 8 Days
Rupin Pass, which spans over 65 kilometres between the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, is unquestionably one of India's grandest cross-country treks. Every bend in the route feels like a huge theatre curtain opening, presenting stunning views steeped in a dizzying variety of hues that leave you speechless in their wake. There is never a dull moment on the trail, whether you are hiking through dense pine and rhododendron forests, meandering through a hanging village, traversing enormous glacial valleys, climbing Rupin Pass' steep, narrow gully, sliding down snow chutes to Ronti Gad, or climbing to the top of a waterfall. The Rupin Pass, which rises to a height of 4,650 M, is a moderate-level trip ideal for hikers wishing to advance their skills after completing an easy walk. The walk does provide some problems, necessitating a certain set of talents to negotiate its terrain well, despite the modest distances travelled each day and the continuous altitude climb. The terrain is not the only thing that changes dramatically. While travelling from one campground to another, the Rupin River transforms into a different avatar. This is perhaps the aspect of the walk that we like the best if we had to choose just one. It's unique in that you can hike from the Dhaula riverbed all the way to the summit of the Rupin Waterfall. Few people can claim to have observed a river's path as closely as one does on the Rupin Pass Trek.
